Florida's Vernon Macklin will take the court tonight against Butler for the right to play in the Final Four.
↵But this isn't his first Final Four trip. His first trip came in 2007, when he played on the Georgetown Hoyas Final Four team (albeit sparingly).
↵However, when he now reflects on his time at Georgetown, he doesn't exactly have the fondest of memories, according to a story in the Washington Post:
↵↵↵To be honest, I was at Georgetown but I only liked a selected few players, and me and the coaching staff didn’t get along as I thought we would," Macklin said Friday. "I’m not gonna say [Coach John Thompson III] didn’t care at Georgetown, it was just the position I was in. It was Jeff Green, Roy Hibbert, so I wasn’t in a position to really be cared about."
↵
I guess that would be reason enough to transfer schools, as Macklin did when he transferred from Georgetown to Florida after his sophomore season.
