After knocking off Tennessee, Georgetown moved up in both the Associated Press and Coaches' Poll.

After improving to 5-1 with a 37-36 win against Tennessee on Friday, the Georgetown Hoyas moved up in both the Associated Press and Coaches' Poll top 25.

The Hoyas checked in at No. 15 in the latest AP top 25, collecting a season high 545 points. That is a significant increase over the 257 points Georgetown received in last week's AP poll. While Georgetown's win against Tennessee may not have been pretty, it was enough to impress the voters. The Hoyas jumped five spots and are the sixth-highest one-loss team in the AP poll.

Georgetown didn't climb quite as high in the latest USA Today Coaches' Poll, moving up two spots to No. 23. The Hoyas received 121 points in the latest poll, just one point behind No. 22 Oklahoma State. Georgetown broke into the Coaches' poll last week with 56 points.

The Hoyas will have another chance to improve voters this week, beginning with their game against Texas in the Jimmy V Classic on Tuesday.
