Georgetown (20-6, 10-5 Big East) welcomes longtime Big East foe Villanova (11-16, 4-11) to the Verizon Center on Saturday, with the Hoyas looking to bounce back from their worst loss of the year. The Hoyas were drubbed 73-55 by Seton Hall on Tuesday night, allowing the Pirates to shoot 61 percent from the floor in the game. For the season, Georgetown is ranked second in the conference in scoring defense, allowing just 59.2 points per game.
Villanova, a team that has made the NCAA tournament seven straight seasons, is struggling mightily. The Wildcats have lost their last four games, including two straight overtime defeats at home. Jay Wright's club would need a miracle run through the Big East tournament to make their eighth straight Big Dance.
Georgetown has won seven of the past eight meetings between the two clubs. This is the 70th all-time meeting between the Hoyas and Wildcats.
