In the official SBNation NCAA Tournament predictions, writer Bill Connelly picked two of the teams in the DC area would make it past the first round before bowing out. He predicted that the Georgetown Hoyas would open their NCAA tournament run with a victory over the Midwest Region's No. 14 seed Belmont in the second round and then defeat No. 11 seed N.C. State in the third round before bowing out to No. 2 seed Kansas in the sweet 16.

In the West Region, Connelly selected the No. 10 seed Virginia Cavaliers to upset No. 7 seed Florida in the second round before losing to No. 2 seed Missouri in the third round. Connelly also has South Region No. 12 seed VCU losing in their second round game to No. 5 seed Wichita State and East Region No. 15 seed Loyola losing their second round game to No. 2 seed Ohio State.

Connelly's final four predictions include Kentucky facing off with Missouri in one national semifinal game and Kansas playing Florida State in the other national semifinal. His prediction is that Kentucky will face Kansas for the national championship, with Kentucky winning it all in New Orleans.
