The Georgetown Hoyas have officially announced that junior forward Hollis Thompson will declare for the NBA Draft, after multiple reports indicated Thompson would be leaving the Hoyas:

The university released a statement Tuesday afternoon with a quote from head coach John Thompson III that indicated little surprise at Hollis Thompson's move:
"Hollis returned for his junior year after submitting his name for the 2011 NBA Draft," John Thompson III said. "We fully anticipated he would enter the 2012 draft after this season. He is an extremely hard worker and we wish him the best as he takes his next step."
The Los Angeles native finished the 2011'12 season second on the team in scoring with 12.8 points and third in rebounds 5.5 HIs 58 three-pointers led the team, and his three-point percentage (43.0) led the Big East. In 99 career games at Georgetown, Thompson averaged 8.7 points and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 47.8 percent from the floor.
