When the McDonald's All-American Game tips off from Chicago's United Center on Wednesday, Georgetown fans should have their eyes on one player on the West Team when the game begins. Forward Devonta Pollard, from Porterville, Miss. will be one of the 24 players competing in this game. Pollard has expressed interest in signing with the Georgetown Hoyas to play basketball this fall.
Other teams Pollard has expressed interest in playing with includes Alabama, Missouri, Kentucky and Mississippi State. Pollard measures in at 6'7" and 190 pounds. A scouting report on Pollard by Rivals.com's Jerry Meyer has this to say.
A multidimensional lefty, Pollard has a strong post up game and is a force on the offensive boards. He is also effective in the high post as a scorer and passer and can defend multiple positions.
The lone player from a D.C. area school that will be playing in this game is North Carolina native, and North Carolina State signee, Tyler Lewis of Oak Hill Academy of Mouth of Wilson, VA.
The game is set to tip off from the United Center at 9:30 p.m following the Girls All-American Game. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN.
