The Georgetown Hoyas now know who their opponent will be in the second round of the 2012 Big East Tournament, as the Pitt Panthers defeated the St. John's Red Storm 73-59 at Madison Square Garden Tuesday afternoon.
Ashton Gibbs led the Panthers with 20 points, while Nasir Robinson put in a solid performance, scoring 15 points while shooting 7-for-10 from the field.
Moe Harkless put in a stellar game for the Red Storm, scoring a game-high 25 points while shooting 10-for-16 from the floor. The rest of the Red Storm struggled to shoot well during the contest, especially God'sgift Achiuwa who made just one of the 10 shots he took. Pitt held St. John's to 33.3 percent shooting for the game.
Georgetown lost to the Panthers in the lone meeting of the season, 72-60, back on January 28.
