Big East Tournament 2012 Halftime Score: Henry Sims Helps Georgetown To 31-23 Lead

The Georgetown Hoyas earned the No. 5 seed in the 2012 Big East Tournament, the best seed without a double bye, despite a late loss to Marquette. Henry Sims has the Hoyas looking like they deserved a better seed in the second round against Pittsburgh: Georgetown leads the Panthers 31-23 at the half.

Sims has led the Hoyas with 11 points and eight rebounds, and has contributed to suffocating defense that shut down Pittsburgh late in the half. After Ashton Gibbs hit a three-pointer to put the Panthers up 18-13 with 8:33 to go in the first half, Georgetown allowed Pittsburgh to get just two more field goals for the rest of the half, and the Hoyas closed on a 12-0 run that earned them their third lead on the day.

Gibbs has nine points to lead Pittsburgh.
