Referees Don't Want Maryland In ACC Championship Game

In the picture above, you see a Florida State Seminoles player (in white) and a Terrapins players (in black) both diving for the football. You also see the football on the ground.

So when Florida State cornerback Greg Reid got up and started running with the ball and celebrating, it was all for nothing. Right? Surely once the referees had a chance to watch the video replay, they would make the correct call. Right?

Wrong.

↵

The referees ruled that this was an interception by Reid, and after video review, confirmed it. This makes us ask what the point of instant replay is if an official still can't even get the call right. It also makes us ask whether there's a possibility that the ACC might actually prefer to have Florida State in its Championship Game.
