Terps Defeat Hornets With Ease 72-54

Two losses to nationally-ranked opponents gave the Maryland Terrapins an early-season test. The Delaware State Hornets didn't.

Cliff Tucker scored a team-high 15 points to lead the Terps to a 72-54 win over the Hornets.

Dino Gregory added 14 points and Adrian Bowie scored 11 points. Jordan Williams scored six points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Maryland finished with a 40-20 rebounding advantage and led throughout most of the game.

The Terps led the Hornets by 19 at halftime and defeated them with relative ease. This allowed head coach Gary Williams to give his reserves playing time, including Haukur Palsson, James Padgett and Berend Weijs.

Jay Threatt scored 15 points for the Hornets.
