Elon Vs. Maryland: Roger Dugas Shoots Phoenix Into The Lead

The Maryland Terrapins are down three points at halftime to the Elon Phoenix. That might sound bad, but considering that the Terrapins were down by 11 early in the half, it's actually significant progress.

Maryland's full court press defense was not working very well early against the quick passing and efficient shooting of Elon. The Phoenix were frequently able to escape the trap and find the open man behind the three-point line. The visitors converted on six three-point attempts in the first half, with three of them coming from the hands of Roger Dugas. Jack Isenbarger and Dugas each scored 11 points in the first half.

The Terrapins were led in the first half by rookie guard Terrell Stoglin, who made two three-point attempts and scored another basket to give him a first-half total of six points.

The Terrapins still have their work cut out for them, but at least they were able to dig their way out of the 20-9 hole that the team faced early in the first half.
