Maryland Vs. N.C. State: Terps Lead N.C. State 17-14 at Half

Just when it looked like NC State was going to take a 17-14 lead just before halftime, the Terps special teams unit came up big to help set up a Maryland's go ahead score.

N.C. State kicker John Czajkowski lined up to attempt the would be go-ahead 38 yard field goal attempt. The kick instead was blocked by Maryland's special teams and picked up by Antwine Perez, who raced down the sideline for 35 yards, putting Maryland the N.C. State 47 yard line with 47 second left in the half.

Danny O'Brien then got the Terps into field goal range, setting up a 52 yard Travis Baltz field goal attempt. Despite missing an earlier kick from a shorter distance, Baltz was able to hit the 52 yarder against the wind to give the Terps a 17-14 lead at halftime.

Since going down 14-0 early in the first quarter, the Terps have scored 17 unanswered points to take the lead against the Wolfpack. If the Wolfpack are to earn a date with the Hokies, they know now they are going to have to earn it against Ralph Friegens squad.
