Maryland Vs. Miami: Hurricanes Respond As Mike James Scores From Two Yards Out

It didn't take long for the Miami Hurricanes to respond to Alex Wujciak's big interception return. Stephen Morris and the Hurricanes moved the ball up the field quickly, and running back Mike James punched it into the end zone from two yards out. However, once again, Miami wasn't able to complete the extra point, as Maryland blocked the kick to preserve a 14-12 lead.

The big play on the drive came when Morris lofted the ball up to Danny Byrd for a 26-yard completion that got the ball down to the Maryland five-yard line. It looked like Maryland could have come up with the interception, but the ball went just over the outstretched arms of the Maryland defensive back. Two plays later, James scored from two yards out, diving to get the ball over the plane.

Maryland did make a huge play on the extra point. Joe Vellano snuck through the line and blocked the kick, maintaining Maryland's 14-12 lead. Miami has now failed to complete five extra points this season.
