The start of the Maryland Terrapins' rebuilding season is off and running, literally and figuratively. The Terps lead the Seattle University Redhawks ____ at halftime in the opening round of the 2K Sports Classic benefitting Coaches v. Cancer in a back-and-forth game.
Senior Cliff Tucker and junior Sean Mosley lead the way with nine points each, while freshmen Terrell Stoglin and Pe'Shon Howard have combined for nine points. Seattle is paced by Cervante Burrell's 13 points. ACC Rookie of the Year runner-up Jordan Williams has eight points and seven rebounds.
Maryland has already shown that it will be much more athletic than recent teams of past, scoring most of their 46 points in transition. Yet, in half-court sets, the Terps, featuring five true freshman, are showing that they still need to find their chemistry. Maryland forced 12 Seattle turnovers, but committed 15 of their own.
