Boston College Vs. Maryland: Eagles Pull The Upset, Win 79-75

The Maryland Terrapins had three defensible losses coming into today's ACC home opener against Boston College. This loss, however, will be tough to swallow.

Thanks to missed free throws and bad possessions down the stretch, the Terps fell to Boston College 79-75 at home on Sunday afternoon. The Terps went scoreless for the last two minutes and 44 seconds in the loss, squandering a 27-point effort from Jordan Williams.

The game was tied at 75 inside of a minute, but Boston College broke the tie when Corey Raji hit a three-pointer with 40 seconds left. On the ensuing Maryland possession, the Terps threw the inbounds pass away trying to get the ball to Williams. Boston College missed the free throw, giving Maryland one last chance, but Terrell Stoglin missed a three-point attempt from the top of the key, sealing the game.

Stoglin and Dino Gregory added 14 points each to supplement Williams, but Stoglin was just 6-17 from the field. Biko Paris led Boston College with 22 points. The Eagles shot 13-29 from three-point range in the game, including the big one by Raji.
