College Football Bowl Schedule: Clemson, South Florida Will Meet In Meineke Car Care Bowl

The Meineke Car Care Bowl was a possible destination for Maryland, but they have elected to go in a different direction. As it turns out, Clemson will take on South Florida in the game, according to the bowl's web site. The game will take place on December 31 at noon at Bank of America stadium in Charlotte, and will be broadcasted on ESPN.

Clemson suffered through a difficult 6-6 season against a very difficult schedule. Only one of those six losses, a 16-10 loss at Boston College on October 30, was a particularly bad loss. The other five came to Auburn, Miami, at North Carolina, at Florida State and to South Carolina. All five of those teams are heading to solid bowl games.

South Florida finished the season 7-5, including a 3-4 mark in the Big East. They lost their final game on Saturday night to Connecticut, 19-16. They did get a big 23-20 win at Miami the week before.

SB Nation's South Florida blog Voodoo Five was the first to report that South Florida would play in the game. For more on the matchup, head over there.
