For the second consecutive week, the Maryland Terrapins take on a ranked ACC foe as they host the No. 8 Clemson Tigers at Byrd Stadium this Saturday, Oct. 15. Here's the lowdown on Saturday's game:
Who: Maryland Vs. No. 8 Clemson
Where: Byrd Stadium
When: 7:00 PM EST
TV Information: Clay Matvick and Brian Griese have the call on ESPNU.
Spread: Clemson by 7.
Last game: Maryland fell to the No. 13-ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 21-16, to fall below the .500 mark for the second time this season. Meanwhile, Clemson successfully defended home field against the Boston College Eagles, 36-14, to remain undefeated.
Last season: The Tigers crushed the Terrapins, 31-7, thanks largely to two scores by Andre Ellington. His 87-yard kickoff return in the second period gave Clemson the lead for good, and a one-yard dive in the third period put Maryland in a 24-7 hole.
Key absences: Demetrius Hartsfeld, who leads Maryland with 50 tackles on the season, stands as the most significant player out. Defensive lineman Justin Anderson, offensive lineman Justin Gilbert, linebacker Garrett Lederman, defensive lineman Andre Monroe, and linebacker Shaquan Virgil will join him on the sidelines. Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd, who leads the ACC with 1742 passing yards, will play despite injuring his hip last week.
