The Terps are playing their second highly ranked team in a row this week in the Clemson Tigers, but unlike their game against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, they have gotten off to a fast start. They lead the Tigers 14-10 after the first quarter.
Before you think that C.J. Brown must be having a good game to be leading this attack, he's not. He's playing ok, but not great. The Terps have capitalized on two huge Clemson mistakes; a muffed punt return by Sammy Watkins that gave the Terps the ball inside the 10, and an absolutely terrible interception by Tajh Boyd that Cameron Chism returned for a long touchdown. But it doesn't matter how you get the points, just that you have them. The Terps needed to get off to a fast start tonight if they had any hope of upsetting Clemson, they have done just that.
The first quarter ends with the Terps knocking on the doorstep once again. A couple big plays by Brown, one with the arm to Matt Furstenburg and one with the Legs have the ball back inside the redzone. Stay tuned.
