C.J. Brown got the nod over Danny O'Brien to start this homecoming game against Clemson, and after some early jitters, he has been extremely impressive so far, and the rest of the Maryland team has followed suit. They lead the 8th ranked Clemson Tigers 28-17 at halftime, and they get the ball back to start the second.
Brown has been adequate throwing the ball, but that isn't what he's in there to do. he has been dangerous on the ground all night and already has 8d rushing yards. I'm sure Clemson will take some of that away from him in the second half and he will be forced to make some good throws, but based on what we've seen so far, there's no reason to believe he won't be able to keep the defense honest. It's just one half against a team that might not have been prepared to see him, but Brown looks like the real deal so far.
