The Maryland Terrapins continue to be one of the ACC's most inconsistent teams. After losing hard-fought games against Navy and Clemson, Maryland was handed their fifth loss of the year, and their third consecutive defeat, by Florida State this past Saturday in Tallahassee.
The loss dropped Maryland to 1-3 in ACC play, effectively ending their chances at competing for the Atlantic Division of the conference. Maryland does return home for two consecutive weeks, and both games are quite winnable. Maryland hosts the winless Boston College Eagles this Saturday, followed by a home tilt with Virginia to start the month of November. Once again, coach Randy Edsal is remaining mum about whether C.J. Brown and Danny O'Brien will start at quarterback. Edsal tweeted Monday that he'd make a game-time decision. The depth chart for this week's game against BC confirms.
Brown started against the Seminoles and was 11-19 throwing the ball for 92 yards and 0 touchdowns before a vicious hit by Nigel Bradham forced him to the sidelines to receive medical attention. Brown was cleared to return but did not return to the game. In relief, O'Brien played well. He completed 9-of-18 for 180 yards and 1 TD. He also scored from five yards out on the ground to give Maryland its first of two touchdowns on the day.
