Andrew Gonnella Injury Update: Maryland Offensive Lineman Transported To Atlanta Hospital With Leg Injury

Maryland football offensive lineman Andrew Gonnella is in an Atlanta hospital after suffering a very serious leg injury during the Terps' 21-16 loss to Georgia Tech. Gonnella, who laid on the ground for 14 minutes before he was put in a stretcher and ambulance, is currently being "evaluated," according to the university.

Terps coach Randy Edsall did not have much of an update in his post-game press conference following the loss, other than to say that Gonnella will be missed.

"If he can't come back, he's going to be sorely missed," Edsall said. "He's been a great leader for us, and just a guy who loves the game of football. ... Now we have to take a piece of him and go out there and play for him as well."

Safety Eric Franklin told Patrick Stevens of the Washington Times that he heard people saying the bone in Gonnella's leg was stuck out.
