Maryland Vs. Colorado Final Score: Led By Terrell Stoglin's Career High 32, Terps Bounce Back Against Buffaloes, 78-71

After a dismal 42 point offensive performance against Alabama in the opening round of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off, the Maryland Terrapins bounced back on Friday night to defeat the Colorado Buffaloes, 78-71. The Terps were led by Terrell Stoglin, who scored a career high 32 points, going four for seven from behind the arc and shooting a red hot 57% from the floor. Perhaps most impressively, Stoglin scored 14 points after he picked up his fourth foul with over 11 minutes remaining in the game.

In the first half, the Terps had a carry-over from Thursday night and played a sloppy and sluggish on the offensive end. But it was a different story in the second, as they exploded for 51 points (nine points more than they scored in two halves yesterday) to cruise to the seven point win. Mark Turgeon did an impressive job of rallying the team from a double digit deficit after three ugly halves of hoops in San Juan. The Terps cleaned it up and committed only three turnovers in the second half. In addition to Stoglin, guards Nick Faust and Sean Mosley both chipped in with 15 points a piece. Both did their damage from downtown, with the freshman Faust going three for six from behind the arc and the senior leader Mosley hitting on four of six. The three pointer was huge for the Terps, as Faust, Stoglin, and Mosley combined to shoot 52% from three.

The Terps, 2-1 in this young season, now have a day off and will play Sunday at 2:00 PM against Iona, who defeated Western Michigan 94-88 earlier in the day. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
