Puerto Rico Tip-Off Bracket Update: Alabama To Face Purdue In Final; Terrell Stoglin Leads Terps To Win

A quick recap of the Friday action in the 5-Hour Energy Puerto Rico Tip-Off:

Alabama 70, Wichita State 60

The Crimson Tide blocked a tournament record 14 shots in defeating the Shockers by ten on Friday night. The win earns Alabama a spot in the final. Tony Mitchell scored 26 points for Alabama, and the Crimson Tide held Wichita State to just 33.8 percent shooting from the floor. The Crimson Tide will play Purdue in Sunday's championship game.

Maryland 78, Colorado 71

The Terrapins rebounded in a big way from their opening game performance against Alabama, getting a career high 32 points from Terrell Stoglin in the seven point win over the Buffaloes. Maryland now has a day off and will play Sunday at 2:00 PM against Iona for fifth place. The game will be televised on ESPNU. Colorado will face Western Michigan for seventh place.

Iona 94, W. Michigan 88

Scott Machado had 17 points, 15 assists and five steals for the Gaels in a game that was not as close as the final score would indicate. Iona led 42-29 at halftime, and by as many as 21 points during the second half in this consolation bracket game. Iona will face Maryland at 2:00 PM Sunday. Western Michigan will take on Colorado.

Purdue 85, Temple 77

Lewis Jackson scored 26 points for the Boilermakers, and Robbie Hummel added 20 as Purdue pulled away late to defeat the Owls. The Boilermakers will take on the Crimson Tide in Sunday's final.
