Alex Len May Be Ruled Eligible For Maryland Basketball On Wednesday, According To Report

Down to just seven eligible scholarship players, the Maryland basketball team may soon receive some much-needed good news. Ukranian center Alex Len, whose eligibility has been up in the air, may be cleared by the NCAA to play as soon as Wednesday, according to a report by Jeff Barker of the Baltimore Sun.

Olexiy ("Alex") Len, a center from Antratsit, Ukraine, is expected to be approved to play by an NCAA clearinghouse and may be at practice as soon as today, two sources told the Baltimore Sun.

This is not a slam dunk yet, as InsideMdSports.com reports that Len has not been cleared to practice yet. However, if he is, the Terps will receive a major boost in their frontcourt. Len is raw, but was seen as a big-time recruit when Maryland grabbed him, and the Terps have very few big men on the roster.
