2011 Bowl Projections, Military Bowl: Wake Forest, Air Force Projected To Square Off

Wake Forest and Air Force are headed to the Military Bowl, according to the latest bowl projections.

The 2011 Military Bowl, as of now, will pit the ACC's Wake Forest against Air Force from the Mountain West, according to the latest bowl projections by SBNation.com. The Military Bowl traditionally takes either Navy or Army, but after Navy's 27-24 loss to San Jose State on Saturday, both Navy and Army will not be bowl eligible.

Instead, this game will likely pit Wake Forest against Air Force. The Demon Deacons became bowl-eligible on Saturday with a 31-10 win over woeful Maryland in Winston-Salem. Air Force, meanwhile, will potentially act as the service academy school at the game, even though the Falcons play in the Mountain West. Air Force also became bowl eligible with a 45-17 win over UNLV on Saturday.

The Military Bowl will take place at RFK Stadium on December 28. Last season, Maryland defeated East Carolina in what proved to be the final game of coach Ralph Friedgen's tenure at Maryland.
