2011 Bowl Predictions: Military Bowl To Likely Pit Wake Forest And Temple

The Washington D.C. area will play host to a bowl game this year -- the Military Bowl, on December 28th at RFK Stadium. Had the Navy Midshipmen not self-destructed in the second half of the season, the local military academy would have garnered an invite to play a middle-of-the-pack ACC squad. But at 4-7, Navy is obviously not bowl eligible.

Instead, the game is likely to pit Wake Forest and Temple according to the latest bowl projections filed by Bill Connelly of SB Nation. The Demon Deacons have not exactly finished strong, having lost four of their past five, including a 41-7 drubbing at the hands of Vanderbilt this past weekend. The Owls meanwhile finished on a hot streak, winning their past three to improve to 8-4 overall and 5-2 in Mid-American conference play. Temple's narrow defeat to Ohio in early November proved to be the de facto title game, as Ohio held on to their lead over Temple down the stretch for the conference crown.
