Maryland Vs. Illinois Score Update: Terrapins Lead Illini, 35-31, At Half Of ACC/Big Ten Challenge

Led by early season scoring machine Terrell Stoglin, the Maryland Terrapins lead Illinois 35-31 as the teams head to the locker room at half in College Park. Stoglin has 13 points through the first twenty minutes, hitting two of three attempts from downtown and going on a personal 9 point run to give Maryland a cushion in the final ten minutes of the half. Stoglin continues to get into the lane and draw fouls, as he has done all year.

As a team, Maryland did a good job of getting into the lane and challenging the Illini big men, getting into the double bonus by the end of the half. James Padgett was a catalyst, getting to the line 8 times and hitting six attempts. He made his first five in the half but then missed his last three as he went cold at the end of the half. The Terps were just 8 of 15 from the line, putting the Illini in foul trouble but squandering the opportunity. Home underdogs, the Terps will look for Stoglin to lead them an upset win and give the ACC the early lead in the challenge.
