Virginia Vs. Maryland Score Update: Terps Trail, 7-3, After First Quarter

We're through one quarter of play at Byrd Stadium, and Maryland trails Virginia, 7-3. The Terps were able to get some momentum on their last drive, but were forced to settle for a 24-yard field goal from Nick Ferrara when the drive stalled in the red zone.

The scoring drive was a display of the best qualities of Danny O'Brien when he's playing at his best. It began with a scramble and throw for 10 yards on third and 10. Later, O'Brien found Kerry Boykins deep for a big gain into Virignia territory, and then he found Boykins again on a scramble to get inside the 10-yard line. However, a penalty and a dropped pass in the end zone on third down forced the Terps to settle for the field goal.
