Torrey Smith Redeems Himself, Allows Baltimore Ravens To Sweep Pittsburgh Steelers

So, how about Torrey Smith, huh? The former Maryland football wide receiver had quite the roller coaster in the Baltimore Ravens' 23-20 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night football. You probably know what happened by now, but in case you don't, here's Smith's drop and game-winning touchdown to seal the Ravens' victory.First, the drop, which could have very easily doomed Smiths' entire season. Consider: in training camp, he was struggling so much with drops that Ray Lewis and Ed Reed had to stage an intervention to tell him to snap out of it, according to the Sunday Night Football broadcast. You could easily imagine Smith going into a shell again after this drop.

Of course, we all know it didn't turn out that way. Instead, this happened.

For the season, Smith has 397 yards receiving and four touchdowns. Only A.J. Green of the Cincinnati Bengals tops him in either category. It's enough to make you wonder whether Maryland's season would have been much different if Smith stayed for his senior season.
