Maryland Basketball Recruiting: Shaquille Cleare, Jake Layman, Seth Allen All Sign Letters Of Intent

Wednesday was a big day for Maryland basketball recruiting, as the Terps have received official letters of intent from all three of its committed prospects from the Class of 2012, according to Inside MD Sports. Those three players are center Shaquille Cleare, small forward Jake Layman and shooting guard Seth Allen.

Cleare is the headliner of the recruiting class thus far. A four-star center from Houston, Cleare is ranked as the ninth-best center in the Class of 2012 and 44th overall by Rivals. He, along with Ukranian import Alex Len, is expected to fill the void inside that was vacated by the departure of Jordan Williams to the 2011 NBA Draft.

Lynam and Allen are both three-star recruits. Allen is a 6'2'' guard from Fredericksburg, Virginia, while Layman is a 6'8'' forward from Massachusetts. They are the three marquee names for Mark Turgeon's 2012 recruiting class, which is expected to be one of the stronger ones in the nation.
