College Basketball Signing Day: Patrick Holloway Signs Letter Of Intent With George Mason

George Mason basketball has officially secured its first Letter of Intent from a member of the Class of 2012. The Patriots announced that guard Patrick Holloway has committed to playing for the program on college basketball's national early-signing day. Holloway is a 6'1'' guard from Paul VI in Fairfax, and he is the first member of Paul Hewitt's second recruiting class.

"We are very fortunate to be adding a terrific young man like Patrick to our program," said Hewitt. "Obviously people in the area know him well as he attends Paul VI, and he is one of the best 3-point shooters in the D.C. metro area."

Holloway's high-school coach Glenn Farello compared him to Lamar Butler, the all-CAA guard who graduated last season. Holloway is about to begin his senior season at Paul VI. Last season, he averaged 16.2 points per game and was a fourth-team All-Met selection by the Washington Post.
