Maryland Football Recruiting: Abner Logan, Four Star Linebacker From Massachusetts, Signs With Terps

Randy Edsall received some good news with the commitment of four star linebacker Abner Logan.

With the exodus of transfers dominating the offseason headlines in College Park, Maryland Coach Randy Edsall received some good news on Monday with a big recruiting coup. Abner Logan, a four star linebacker from Massachusetts, committed to Maryland. It's an impressive get for Edsall, who went into the backyard of division rival Boston College to nab the linebacker. Logan was a standout on both sides of the ball in the prep ranks, going back and forth from running back to linebacker. It's almost certain he will play on the defensive side of the ball for the Terps.

According to his high school coach, Logan has family in the area and that played a part in his committment.

Via The Boston Herald:

"Abner really felt comfortable with Maryland, he has family there and they have a great business program, which is something Abner wants to major in," Day said. "Keith Dudzinski (linebacker coach at Maryland) did a great job of recruiting him and (head coach) Randy Edsall got UConn into a BCS Bowl game, so that carries some cache."

The commitment, along with the recent hiring of Mike Locksley - a renowned recruiter in the DC area, should give Edsall a boost in what has been a tumultuous offseason.
