Maryland vs. Radford: Terrapins In Tie Game At Half

The Maryland Terrapins found themselves in a dogfight during the first half of their game against the Radford Highlanders on Friday night at the Comcast Center.

Thanks to 16 points from guard R.J. Price and 11 points from forward Javonte Green, the 3-10 Highlanders out of the Big South Conference were able to take a 39-39 tie into the half against the 6-3 Terrapins.

James Padgett had nine points and seven rebounds to lead Maryland's offensive effort. Forward Ashton Pankey had eight points and leading scorer Terrell Stoglin had five points on 2-7 shooting. Though no Terrapins are in double figures yet, however, the team's problems in the first half weren't on offense.

Maryland allowed Radford to shoot a solid 46.7 percent from the field, including a 6-13 performance from behind the 3-point arc.

In the second half, the Terps will likely look to put their considering rebounding advantage in the first half to work. The Terps beat the Highlanders 19-11 on the boards in the first half, including 11-5 on the offensive glass. If Maryland can keep that going, it should have a good chance to pull away as the game goes on.
