Virginia Tech's 38-10 loss to Clemson in the 2011 ACC Championship Game proved to be costly. Instead of competing for a BCS bowl game, the Hokies, who entered the game No. 5 in the country, will tumble all the way down to the Chick Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta, according to a report by Chip Patterson of CBS Sports. They will face Auburn.
The Hokies suffered only two losses all season, but both were to Clemson, and the last one proved to be decisive. Auburn, meanwhile, finished 7-5 and 4-4 in the SEC one year after winning the national championship behind Cam Newton.
