The 2011 Military Bowl will be Toledo vs. Air Force, the bowl announced on Sunday. The game normally pits an ACC team against a service academy, but with Virginia Tech's ascension to the Sugar Bowl, the other ACC teams moved up one game. Air Force will be the service academy, due to Navy being ineligible for a bowl. Air Force finished 7-5 in the Mountain West this season, while Toledo finished 8-4 in the Mid-American Conference.
Last season's Military Bowl was won by Maryland over East Carolina in what proved to be Ralph Friedgen's final game as the team's coach. Here's more information on the game.
Game date, time: 4:30 p.m. Eastern, December 28.
Location: RFK Stadium, Washington D.C.
TV channel: ESPN/EPSN3
2010 winner and loser: Maryland, East Carolina
