NCAA Bracketology: Maryland's Loss To Boston College Really, Really, Really Hurt

Well, even though the Terps were 5-1 in their last six games going into today's matchup with Boston College, they knew that they needed to start winning games with teams that close to them in the standings to get a better shot at earning an NCAA tournament bid.

Well, there goes that chance, for now.

↵

Maryland lost to Boston College today 76-72 and are now 5-5 in a relatively weak ACC. This obviously puts Maryland a tough spot the rest of the way. They now have to travel to Virginia Tech, a team that handed the Terps their worst loss in Comcast Center history earlier this season, and try to steal a win on the road.

↵

They will later play Florida State and North Carolina, two teams are in the top three in the ACC. Even though the ACC is realtively weak this year, those two teams could still pose some serious problems for the Terps, as they have been two of the conference's better teams.

↵

With five wins in conference, the Terps know they need to at least finish with double digit ACC wins and have a solid showing in the ACC tournament to even have a shot at impressing the tournament selection committee.

It's obviously a tough road, and thanks to today's loss, that road may have just gotten tougher.
