Is Maryland's Game Tonight Against UNC For Their Season?

One could argue that for the Maryland Terrapins, every game from now is for their season.

But looking at their remaining regular season schedule, tonight's game probably has the most importance. They will be playing a North Carolina Tarheel team that has gotten better and better as the season went on, and is currently ranked 19th in the nation. Maryland beat their first team in the top 50 on Wednesday when they beat Florida State, and if they are to make a tournament appearance, they know they need some more victories against top 50 teams.

This could be the final chance for the Terps to get a win against a ranked opponent. If they do, they will have 8 wins in the ACC, and would probably be right back on the bubble. They need to either win out the regular season, or win at least two games in the ACC tournament to gain legitimate consideration for an at large NCAA tournament bid.

Although tonight's game Chapel Hill will certainly be a tough one for Gary Williams' squad, he knows it's now or never.
