Introducing Maryland's Newest Wide Receiver - Cliff Tucker?

Cliff Tucker has been perhaps the most frustrating player in a senior class that has been inconsistent since it first got to Campus. He shows brilliance one day, then about three weeks of sub-par play. With the Maryland season just about over, I assumed that his contributions to the University were just about over. That may not be the case, according to Seth Hoffman of Maryland 24/7.

Tucker’s high school football coach came up from El Paso, Texas, for senior day. He handed Maryland football coach Randy Edsall highlights from Tucker’s playing days at Chapin High. Tucker, who is 6-foot-6, was a heavily recruited receiver after accumulating 939 yards and 19 touchdowns his senior year.

Tucker could enroll in graduate school at Maryland and have one year of eligibility to play football.

Frankly, I'm not sure my heart could handle another year of rooting for Cliff Tucker. Also, it's not like it is easy to start playing football again after four years off, just look at Greg Paulus. But the prospect of giving Danny O'Brien a huge target like that in the red zone is pretty attractive.

Tucker said he is focusing on basketball, so we'll just have to wait until the Terps' inevitable disappointing NIT performance before we find out more.
