ACC Tournament 2011: Terps Defeat N.C State 75-67, Will Face Duke Next

The Terps four game march to a potential NCAA tournament bid has started off on the right foot, as Maryland has defeated the N.C. State Wolfpack 75-67 in the first round of the ACC Tournament.

The second half of this game saw the Terps come back to take a 14 point lead in which they were able to capitalize on all of the Wolfpack mistakes, while the Wolfpack were unable to make the Terps pay for theirs. N.C. State made the game close in it's final moments, but Sean Mosely came up with a huge block on a Scott Wood attempted three pointer, essentially ending the game for Maryland.

So for Gary Williams and company, here comes the hard part: The Duke Blue Devils. Maryland will move on to face their arch rival tomorrow night with their season on the line. If Maryland has any chance at beating Duke for the first time this year, they will have to get some good contributions from everyone on the roster.

Today, the team got some contributions from each player, as all Maryland players (both starters and bench players) scored, with each player scoring at least 5 points.

Tomorrow night will be no different if the Terps are to complete an unlikely run to an ACC championship.
