The first quarterfinal game of the 2011 ACC Tournament has been a little bit of a snoozer so far, that is of course unless ou are supporting the Miami Hurricanes. In what will be a major upset if it stands, Miami is leading North Carolina 31-22 at the half.
I don't know if it is the Miami defense, or if North Carolina is just taking a little while to get into their rhythm, but as of right now, the Tar Heels couldn't throw a grape into the ocean. They are shooting just 30.4% from the field in the first half. John Henson, Dexter Strickland and Kendall Marshall (three of North Carolina's starters) have combined to go 1-8 from the floor. They also have a ridiculous 13 turnovers. To be honest, they should be losing by much more than they are.
Meanwhile, Miami isn't shooting the lights out either, but they have made some timely shots and have done just enough to keep the Tar Heels at bay.
We'll keep you updates on this potential upset as the game goes on.
