In a battle of two NCAA Tournament bubble teams, Clemson left no doubt that they belong in the field. The Tigers routed Boston College, 70-47, in the quarterfinals of the 2011 ACC Tournament, further improving their position and potentially popping the Eagles' bubble.
The Tigers jumped on the Eagles early in both halves, jumping ahead 11-0 to start the game and quickly opening up a double-digit lead in the second half after Boston College cut the lead to 35-27 at halftime. The Tigers were very clearly the better team throughout the game, holding the Eagles to 34 percent shooting. All-ACC first-teamer Reggie Jackson shot just 5-13 from the field and had just 11 points.
The Tigers move to 21-10 and will now face No. 1 seed North Carolina after the Tar Heels escaped against Miami earlier. Boston College falls to 20-12, and its postseason fate will now be determined by the NCAA Selection Committee.
