Just like they did last game, the Virginia Tech Hokies trail at halftime in the ACC Tournament. This time, they trail Duke, 39-28, at halftime of an ACC Tournament semifinal. The Blue Devils took their largest lead of the half on a three by Seth Curry on the half's final possession.
Nolan Smith, who is playing despite a toe injury suffered against Maryland, is leading the way with 16 points for the Blue Devils. Either Smith is playing heroically through pain, or Smith's injury just wasn't very serious in the first place. Depending on your opinion of Duke, either interpretation works.
Malcolm Delaney has 12 to lead Virginia Tech, but nobody else has stepped forward. Nobody on the Hokies besides Delaney has more than four points. Jeff Allen in particular is struggling, shooting just 1-5 from the field and having his troubles with Duke's big front line.
The winner will play North Carolina in the ACC championship game. The Tar Heels topped Clemson in overtime, led by 40 points from Harrison Barnes.
