Jordan Williams Isn't Thinking About The NBA Draft ... Yet

As we noted the other day, the future looks relatively bright for Maryland despite it's poor season this year. That future, of course, is highly dependent on center Jordan Williams electing to stay in college instead of declaring for the NBA Draft.

For now, that's Williams' plan. On the eve of the start of the ACC Tournament, Williams said he's not even thinking about the NBA Draft yet. Via Patrick Stevens of the Washington Times.

↵↵"I'm not even thinking about that," Williams said. "I'm just trying to focus on this team right now and getting this team better and getting this team to the tournament. That's the most important thing. I haven't really put any thought into that."

This isn't exactly a revelation, of course. When a reporter asks a player whether he is thinking about three months ahead the day before the team's most important game of the season, they tend to provide that kind of answer. But Stevens does raise a good point later in the article, noting that Williams' production has gone down recently. Williams probably should consider that slight decline as evidence that he still needs some time in school to polish his skills.

Once that happens, Maryland will rise again. Hopefully.
