2011 NFL Draft Results: Tyrod Taylor Selected By Baltimore Ravens

With the 180th pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens selected Tyrod Taylor, quarterback, Virginia Tech University. Taylor was one of the best passers in Virginia Tech history, and he will go to a Ravens team that could use a backup to starter Joe Flacco.

Taylor had some accuracy issues in his first three years at Virginia Tech, but improved those tremendously in a banner senior season, completing nearly 60 percent of his passes for 2,743 yards and 24 touchdowns against just five interceptions. If the Ravens elect to use him at quarterback, he'll be a good fit there. But according to MASN Sports' Dan Kolko, the Ravens may elect to change his position.

Taylor went through the pre-draft process auditioning only as a quarterback, but some teams reportedly consider him as a versatile guy who could best be used in a spot other than under center.

Taylor joins Maryland wide receiver Torrey Smith with the Ravens. Earlier, Taylor's teammate, cornerback Rashad Carmichael, went to the Houston Texans in the fourth round.
