DeMaurice Smith, Gary Williams Speaking At Maryland Graduation

College graduation is a time for students to hear from people at the top of their field, and Maryland's graduation is no exception. The only difference is that where many schools would find someone tied to academics, civics or something else, Maryland has decided to go the sports route. Your keynote speaker for Thursday's graduation ceremony? None other than NFL Players Association head DeMaurice Smith.

It's a weird choice, in that in brings a lot of interesting subplots to the speech when it really should be about the students. Then again, it seems like this is always something students worry about, and usually, it doesn't end up mattering. But if Smith does say something wacky about the league, you'll be sure people will find out about it.

Also, outgoing Maryland basketball coach Gary Williams will give a few remarks to students. Something tells me that will be much better received that Smith.
