Justin Anderson Confirms Decision To Attend Virginia Over Maryland

Justin Anderson has confirmed he will be attending Virginia and renouncing his commitment to Maryland. The athletic forward from Montrose Christian sent out the following message on his Twitter account.

Anderson verbally committed to Maryland in March, but that was before Gary Williams abruptly announced his retirement. Instead of staying committed to Maryland and new coach Mark Turgeon, Anderson decided to reopen his recruitment, and Virginia was immediately one of the first teams interested. In the end, Anderson elected to play for Tony Bennett and the Cavaliers over the Terps.

Anderson is currently ranked as the No. 23 recruit in the Class of 2012, according to Rivals.
