2011 NBA Draft Combine Results Show Jordan Williams Is Not A Good Athlete

Jordan Williams is criticized for not having NBA athleticism, and despite the above picture from two weeks ago by ESPN's Chad Ford indicating he has slimmed down, Williams did little to dissuade that point of view at the NBA Draft Combine. The athletic testing results are out, and let's just say the former Maryland star had a bad day.

According to the Draft Express database, Williams finished among the five worst players who tested in the following categories:

  • Standing vertical jump

  • Maximum vertical jump
  • ↵
  • Lane agility
  • ↵
  • Modified lane ability
  • ↵
  • 3/4-court sprint

But other than that, he did great, right? Now, to be fair, the athletic testing at the draft combine can often be meaningless. Kevin Durant, who famously couldn't bench press 185 pounds, turned out OK, and as Draft Express notes, he certainly can jump higher than the 33-inch vertical leap score he turned in. But Williams needed to at least show some signs he was an NBA athlete, and instead, this happened. That's not good.
