Former Maryland basketball guard Cliff Tucker surprised some people when he showed up to spring practices for Maryland football with the intention of joining the team as a wide receiver. That dream, however, appears to be dead.

The use of the words "life lesson learned" is a little odd. What kind of lesson would Tucker have learned from this experience, other than that he just wasn't good enough at football to play it after playing basketball? If that's the lesson, that makes him like pretty much every two-sport star in high school that chose to play basketball first. There's no shame in that.
