COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland linebacker Darin Drakeford missed the game against West Virginia with a leg injury, but he was suited up today and saw some early action. However, he suffered what looked like another leg injury against early in the first quarter against Temple, and has hobbled off the field. He was down on the field for a little while before moving off, largely on his own power.
Like we mentioned before, Drakeford is an important part of what Maryland does on defense, and his presence there will be missed. Freshman Alex Twine is listed as his backup on the depth chart, and I would not expect him to have the same level of production as the vastly more experienced Drakeford would have. Maryland's defense has been struggling all year, so these injuries are making it extremely hard for them.
