Prized point guard recruit Roddy Peters will make his college announcement on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. ET, according to a report by InsideMDSports.com. Peters is the No. 1 remaining target for Mark Turgeon's 2013 recruiting class, and the Suitland guard has been the subject of a fierce battle between the Terps and Georgetown. Kansas, Rutgers, and Xavier are three other schools reportedly on his list, but the battle between John Thompson III and Turgeon has topped headlines in the DC area.
There was a fear among Maryland fans that the Terps would fall off Peters's list after Turgeon spent considerable time and effort trying to woo the Harrison twins. Once they committed to Kentucky, Peters became the top target. The consensus four-star point guard recently took in Maryland's first practice of the season.
SB Nation's Testudo Times reported that Turgeon and assistant coach Dalonte Hill visited with the Suitland product for an in-home visit on Monday night. Shortly after that, word surfaced that an announcement would be coming down Tuesday morning.
